Crucial Changes Mix CD-R first printing is SOLD OUT! + blog news, rant + more!

All the mix cds are gone.  However, expect a second run printed up and ready within a couple weeks.  If you get to the Antiquarium fast enough, you can possibly get a free copy.

Tomorrow I will begin designing a new zine featuring reprints of all the Local Spotlights from that last year and a half plus a print only exclusive interview.  Project updates will be posted as they happen.  Expect my travel story to NYC to be posted soon as well.  A lot happened on my 4 day trip, so it's looking like it will be at least a 2 part tale.  We are also due for an all encompassing Spring Scene Report. I also have a photo update I have been forgetting to do.  Shit, I should get that up tonight.  Well fuck, it looks like I have a lot of work to do.

In other news, etc.,etc., Saturday is Record Store Day.  You know what that means?  It means you better take your ass down to The Antiquarium and pick up some new wax.  Yeah, I think Record Store Day is cool, especially with the exclusive vinyl, but why can't we make everyday a record store day?  As some you may know, record (and cd) stores are all closing down with the arrival of the mp3 age.  In the last 2 years alone Zero Street Records in Omaha, and The Spindle in Lincoln have closed up for good.  It's important that we keep the remaining stores (Antiquarium, Drastic Plastic, Homers, lots more!) open as an outlet for independent music and local artists.  Do your part and support these places with your dollar, and let's keep them open.

Lastly, while at the record store yesterday, I picked up a local comic called The Adventures Of Stranger Randy on a whim.  This is a total underground, DIY, raw, adult comic through and through, and it's pretty damn funny.  You can get both issues 1 and 2 for only $8.  The comic also has an official website that has a shit ton of unprinted comics and other funny shit:  www.strangerrandy.com  Check it out.

That's it for now.  As you can see, a lot of content will be up soon.  Keep your eyes and ears at (under)ground level!  Peace.
